There are a Few Places You Can Drive or Enjoy One with Mountains All Around (Denali National Park & Preserve)
There are a Few Places You Can Drive or Enjoy One with Mountains All Around
I’ve been to many in Colorado, Montana and Alberta...all were a joy and many time visited
Now I add Denali and its national park.
Named and unnamed peaks rising above me like towering titans from an age long ago
They know I’m smiling; it’s always obvious
Snow peaks while others have lines showing period of eons settled over time
A tundra stretches as far as my eye could see
And a wildness of life continues on with the daily journey.
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one late afternoon in Denali National Park & Preserve while enjoying sights on the bus ride out to North Face Lodge. As I wrote out in prose style, I saw mountains all around that ride; that’s what I focused on for this image looking to the southeast not far from the Eielson Visitor Center. I wanted to capture that view of the glacial valley with the folds and cuts across the landscape leading up to the nearby ridgelines with its spurs and draws. Finally the eye would come to the snow packed mountain peaks of the Alaska Range in the national park.
I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation while playing around as I learned how to work with DxO PhotoLabs 3 that I’d recently purchased after moving away from Capture NX2.
