Changing fortunes
Silverton's Cs1 started life as Victorian Railways C507 in 1977 and after just over 20 years service was sidelined by then owner National Rail.
After a few years in storage it was sold to Silverton Rail and re-activated, but almost before the paint was dry, in February 2006, it was sold to Allco Finance and operational responsibility passed to South Spur Rail Services in whose service it was seen at Mile End South Australia on a works train in August 2006.
It survives today, renumbered back to C507, as a lease unit with Engeco.
