Literal Lens Flare :)
I had to use a small aperture to get a distinct and clean flaring effect. The grain from the resulting high ISO, for the most part, just looked like texture, so I left it. Cleaning the dust off this image, though, was a pain in the butt.
The lens was placed horizontal on a large rock formation along the ocean shore. I was then able to shoot from below and find an angle that worked best.
The result is not even close to what I had imagined would be the size of the flare, but it was fun to try.
