never forget

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;

Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness;

Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?

I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

I went to visit the poppies at the Tower of London on Sunday evening, each poppy representing each of the 88,8246 British and commonwealth servicemen who fell during the great(?) war of 1914-1918. It was an amazing,humbling and very poignant moment, when you see the sheer amount of poppies it hammers home the futility of war, the devastation caused to millions of people, families changed forever...it really is hard to put my thoughts into words.
