Interview with Glenn Hughes- Mean Fiddler - London (page 3-4)

At the time of this interview Glenn was on his join tour with Joe Lynn Turner as a "Hughes/ Turner Project (HTP)".

As much as we were very happy to carry on talking to Glenn & celebrating his sobriety and new found faith (surrounded by gallons of water bottles), we couldn't resist Joe's persistent offer of more 'suitable & warm-up' drink before the show, like good old pint of beer!

"Believe me, It is not much fun any more to hung around with Glenn"!... (he laughed). He is on this 'holly' water 24/7!

And you know what's worst, he tries to persuade me and everyone else around to join him!...I'd rather stick to what I know best...something more soul soothing ..like a shot of cold beer for start! Hell yeah...

And I can tell you some wicked stories you never heard before! Here it is; 'There were times when I was a hell of a rock stud! One day, I was at the airport ,heading back home when suddenly, there it was - in full glory, heavenly beautiful Tawny Kitaen!...yeah, at that time- just about to be Mr Coverdale's ex- wife.

We were heading same direction and inevitable happened... She is a hell of a stunner and what red-blooded man would say no to her...Sure not Mr Turner -the regular charmer!

What can I say, I was there, thanking my lucky stars and praying for the plane to end up on some no-man-land destination- where we' won't be disturbed! (laugh loudly) So yes, it did happen, I know and she knows, now you know"..

But we also know so well that this could be just another & one of many Joe's 'rock stars' stories...

As soon as we 'established' the nature of his 'true' story, he was reminded that the show was on - in 5 minutes... And that was the end of our 'fun time' with a very charismatic and very funny Joe Lynn Turner!

Well, either way, Mr JLTurner will always be one of the musicians that I have a great admiration; for his most distinctive, soulful and expressive vocal abilities and for fronting some of Hard Rock 's most influential bands including Rainbow, Deep Purple and Yngwie ,Malmsteen!

And may there be more amusing story's from some of his long journeys on the road!

Very nice & fun guy to be around!
