The Birds 5.2.14: City Sparrow "Daily Grind"

Birds in nature can have it rough, but they have it good too. They live in their natural habitat, and face challenges that they are born to face. City birds, in this case Manhattan, New York, face challenges that they might have been born into, but aren't indigenous to their natural environment. This little guy is inches away from a car. He is used to people, because they are constantly crossing his path. He is lucky enough to have the opportunity of living in an enclosed garden, but more often than not, he wanders to the borders of his safety zone. Like here. Sometimes he might even go beyond them. Hopefully he will never have to pay the price for it. This photo is also part of a photo series that tells the visual story of my engagement with birds in the park garden where I live. Each photo in the series contributes meaning and significance to the story. Be sure to check out the "The Birds 5.2.14" album located below, for the "full story". If photos are viewed individually and

"out of context", their meaning and significance will be lost on you. © Maria Dorothea Campbell 2014
