The Reality of Cats 6.27.09
One of Brooks' just about newly born kittens. Brooks, named after a cat of my father's who passed away (because she looked just like him, and at first we thought mistakenly that she was a male - surprise!), was not into hanging out with her kittens all day. She would rather sit on the porch with the other cats. Not that she didn't love them, because she did, but because that was just her way. Calypso, on the other hand, never let her kttens out of her sight for the first 6 months. For the first three, she didn't even let them leave the barn. She knew better! This poor little thing was craving a bit of motherly love! Just look at the way she looked at me! And still had those new kitty blue eyes. © Maria Dorothea Campbell 2009
