Spiraea Bush Closeup Memorial Day Weekend "Down to the Bone" No. 2 5.28.11
This closeup of a spiraea bush inadvertently emulates a painting. There is no experimentation with apertures or shutter speeds, or anything else for that matter. No, not even ISO! What is it then that creates this smudgy effect in places? A worn out sensor. This series of shots were taken right before I sent my camera in to replace the sensor. I thought it would be interesting and educational to include this mini-series. Take good care of your digital camera! If you don't have an automatic sensor cleaning feature in your camera (most high end digital SLR's don't), send it in to the manufacturer and have them do it. You'll increase the life of your camera! That said, I must admit that I liked the effect that was created from my camera's worn out sensor. Hopefully, though, I won't ever be experiencing it again. © Maria Dorothea Campbell 2011
