...lassù...dove nasce il Po! ...up there ... where does the Po! [Explore -Mar 20, 2011]

Al Pian del Re ai piedi del Monviso, sotto una grande roccia, una lapide recita "qui nasce il Po" e una piccola vena d'acqua sorgiva inizia il suo cammino.

Quasi silenziosa per i primi metri , poi sempre più canterina per le numerose altre sorgenti che escono dal Monviso e che aumentano la sua portata ed infine rumoreggiante torrente alpino fino al piano.

E sopra, Sua Maestà Monviso dall'alto dei suoi 3841 metri guarda la sua creatura che si allontana sinuosa verso lidi lontani.

 

At the "Pian del Re" at the foot of Mount Viso, under a big rock, a plaque reads "here born the Po" and a small vein of spring water begins its journey.

Almost silent for the first few meters, then more singing for the numerous other sources leaving the Monviso and increasing its scope and finally roaring mountain stream to the floor.

And above, His Majesty Monviso, from its 3841 meters, looks to its sinuous creature that moves away to distant shores..
