Shot for Macro Monday's "Time" theme.

 

The outside diameter of this hourglass' neck is about 4mm. I removed it from it's holder to simplify the shot. This was backlit with an off-camera flash directly behind. If you zoom in you can see there are actually two types of particles used in this hourglass.
