They are generally diurnal, but may be active during the night or twilight. Bears are extraordinarily intelligent animals. They have excellent memories, large brain and use tools in various contexts from play to hunting. They have excellent senses of smell, sight and hearing. Their great eyesight allows them to detect when fruits are ripe. They are also fantastic at climbing trees, swimming and are able to run at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour for short periods of time.
