Memories are the only way to heal a heartache... 19/52
Vito's Life Lessons 19/52
Memories are the only way to heal heartache, so create a lot of them (especially ones with icecream!)
------
Today my friends little dog Janie would have been 13. She died only a few short months ago and it has been very hard for her owner, aswell as for everyone who loved Jane. Losing a dog- at any age- is heartbreaking.
Every year on Jane's Birthday Sarah would take her for an icecream cone. Today, in Honor of Jane it was suggested that we maintain that tradition. This evening Vito and I headed to Dairy Queen and he could not believe his good fortune. lol. I let him eat the whole thing. I got a lot of great photos- but this is the one that had the most emotion- well at least the emotion that goes with my story. I've posted the others on my blog- they are awesomely funny.
The moral of the lesson- create as many memories as you can with your dog- because at the end that's all we have. This tradition that Sarah created not only helped to get her through the day, but made us all smile a little.
