_M7_4145a Blue-winged Warbler Wtrmk

This Blue-winged Warbler was a sweet find after the golden-winged Warbler yesterday. What is so fascinating here is that the two types of birds are actually now considered the same species, just a glorious example of Gregor Mendel's Punnett squares. There are two more varieties of these birds that were once thought to be hybrids (Brewster's and Lawrence's Warblers). They are now known to be merely the other two expressions of the dominant/recessive gene combos from breeding.
