Brazilian Jewel Tarantula. This amazingly colourful tarantula is not only a dwarf (getting no more than 1.5 inches in diagonal legspan), but it is also a tree spider AND a trapdoor spider.

 

This one is about half-size on my finger, and I had recently confirmed ti to be a female, making it worth about $1,000 at the time.
