Bibra Lake Wetlands

yet another natural place of beauty and wonder...a sanctuary of peace and calm for all who visit or live here is all about to be shattered with the construction of a major highway right through the middle of it all. Not one part of the unique native vegetation left in the metropolitan area is safe from development...it just slowly gets swallowed up and the native animals are pushed closer and closer to extinction and us humans get closer and closer to living in a cement jungle...here in Western Australia the European settlers have not even been here for 200 years and the destruction of the natural and unique environments has been unrelenting and devastating to say the least...over the past 10 years it has even been speeding up during the most affluent and prosperous times this state has experienced with 100's of acres being cleared to build new car parks, new bus stations hospitals and industrial areas...the tragedy is enlarged with the Government departments leaving only about an acre of this unique natural vegetation scattered over many miles...God help us all
