Ridván

On the first day of Ridván,
my True Love sent me,
a pure and radiant heart…

On the second day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
gave to me,
Gladdened eyes...

On the third day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
poured down,
the life-giving,
waters of reunion.

On the fourth day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
illuminated,
the world,
with a new light.

On the fifth day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
promised,
humanity
an Eternal,
Covenant.

On the sixth day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
decked out,
Paradise,
with,
Mystic Roses.

On the seventh day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
gave to me,
an inner ear,
that I may,
listen to,
the delightsome,
words,
of the Beloved.

On the eighth day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
made mention,
of thee,
through,
His gem,
scattering pen.

On the ninth day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
gave divine fire,
motion of ascent
by the heat,
of His love,
guide,
attract all mankind,
to the abode,
of the incomparable,
Friend.

On the tenth day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
said,
renounce the world,
and direct your steps,
toward the city,
of the Beloved.

On the eleventh day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
said to me,
"We come upon a pure soil,
and sowed therein,
the seeds,
of true understanding.
Let it now be seen,
what the rays of the sun,
will do,
-whether they will,
cause these seeds,
to wither,
or to grow."

On the twelve day,
of Ridván,
my True Love,
said to me,
all the Divine Educators,
have sought to exalt,
rather than abrogate,
the faith,
and religion,
of the others.
