this ring of small saplings,

indicate where are very large,

old growth tree has been cut down,

the Jarrah will send up new shoots,

at the edge of the mother tree,

some will survive,

others will die,

they feed the soil for the others,

if left alone would eventually,

grow back,

to the monster size of it's parent.
