Strewn over sandy beaches,

Everywhere I go,

Thousands,

Even millions and trillions,

Broken shells,

Shattered shards of their former selves,

Once homes,

Living forms,

Immense beauty,

Full of potential,

Futures and dreams,

Once clear purpose,

Guiding their every day,

Now only ruble scattered,

Shattered,

Broken remnants,

Of their former selves,

No one to cry for their past beauties,

No one to tell of their past achievements,

No one to know of what they have sacrificed,

Nothing but pieces,

Scattered shells,

Final glimmerings,

Past colours and forms,

Only hints of former capacities,

What once was able,

Now gone,

Scattered,

Lying in the morning sunrise,

Speaking only to the wind,

Awaiting their return to the sea.
