....Vincent van Gogh's artworks were in the very first full colour book I saw when I was a small child about 6 -7 years of age...in those days...a long time ago...in our isolated country town it was a miracle that my school teacher; Miss Short, who had acquired this book of Vincents paintings (I had not seen any books until I went to school at the age of six) ... Miss Short sat us children under a tree on the lawn and showed us his paintings printed all over this amazing wonder of a picture book...I have been in love with his work ever since...still no other visual artist has taken his place...I can still remember this event as if it ocured only a few minutes ago...
