cycles within cycles

These two set out,

from this Melbourne town,

Burke and Wills,

to be the first Europeans,

to cross the entire Australian Continent,

they took huge amounts of supplies,

paid by private sweat,

sucked out of stolen lands,

they tracked out,

way beyond,

this Melbourne town,

with shear brute strength and guts,

tracking across sacred Indigenous lands,

only to perish in its desert heat,

seen by some as hero's,

by others as invaders and thieves,

forced out of their own homes,

by wars and famines,

very hard spiritual tests,

to stand tall in one peoples eyes,

and despised in others,

cycles within cycles,

power shifting,

like sands in a storm,

once rising high,

exalted,

admired,

next thrust to the grown,

trodden on and scuffed under foot,

not having any idea,

of the greater plans of God,

leaves all men confused,

struggling within,

a new cycle with,

a new cycle within...
