Diuris 'Donkey Orchids'
wildflower,
I remember you,
from my childhood,
many springs ago,
scooting through your forest floor,
enraptured,
full of joy,
all these gifts you gave,
freely,
in your wildness,
you only offered service,
to all of humanity,
but greed and fear,
encased their hearts,
and they stole your sacred promise,
destroyed your beauty,
chopped and burnt,
attempting to replace you,
with plastic trinkets,
clay cages,
and bitumen.
