Most boys and a small percentage of girls are born with a dominate learning style which has at its core "doing" otherwise known as Kinaesthetic learning. These kind of learners have to "do" while learning. The majority of boys are very weak learning through their Visual and Audio learning styles. If you want a Kinaesthetic learner to hear what you need them to think about you will need to go kick a ball with them or clean their room with them or go clean the car with them or even take them for a walk. Kinaesthetic learners can be gently and slowly taught to listen and when a child has their left ear woken up to be able to learn through their Audio style of learning then and only then can that child begin to develop the skill of left brain cognitive/analytical thinking.
