chapter 1...Children learn in 3 main ways
Mary Lee has sat on her mother’s lap the entire time they were at the coffee shop as did Joanna, Mona and Ben but little Tommy and Nancy never stopped moving for one second. Tommy and Nancy’s mothers spent most of that outing retrieving their children from dangerous places and finding them food or other toys to distract them but they just wanted to climb and investigate every last structure and person in the shop.

The other mothers just sat by thanking the universe that their children were nothing like Tommy and Nancy and constantly suggesting to their mothers ways and techniques that they could use to help Tommy and Nancy to sit still for long periods of time. Then the eventual suggestions that would inevitably arrive from the other mothers would be to get Tommy and Nancy assessed to see why they cannot sit still like their children.
This story is being played out today all over the Western world with young mums thinking that the Tommy’s and Nancy’s of the world behaviour is something to be assessed and changed. Parents and teachers are struggling day in and day out with children like Tommy and Nancy and are feeling hopeless and at a loss of what to do with them or how to fit them into their modern home or classroom environments.

Let’s explore first this question about why the Tommy’s and Nancy’s of the world behave the way they do. Firstly looking at our collective ancestral history for clues we need to go back to the Hunter and Gatherer stage of humanities Indigenous roots and see that boys that moved very well would learn the skills to become the best hunters and therefore guarantee the very survival of their entire tribe let alone their own families. The Tommy’s and Nancy’s of the world are Kinaesthetic learners and need to move through and around everything to learn and experience how to DO in their environments.

Back at those Indigenous times Tommy would have been very successful and everything would be in place to support and honour his Kinaesthetic learning style. The young boys like Tommy would spend only their childhood within the women’s quarters and around adolescent stage would move into the male quarters for their hunting training.
The majority of girl children during the Hunter and Gathering Indigenous stage of humanities evolution would have to have other learning styles to survive and ensure the survival of the following generations. The majority of girl children are still being born even in today’s societies worldwide with Visual or Audio learning styles. This allows them the skills and capacities to sit for very long times and SEE and HEAR their environments. The women from the majority of the world’s indigenous communities collected small bush foods and smaller animals plus keeping an eye on all the children while they played and helped out around the women within their quarters.

The Kinaesthetic Nancy’s DOING in the women’s roles of sitting to SEE and HEAR would have been very difficult for them and who knows how these women would have survived back in those times.

Whereas the SEEING or HEARING Mary Lee’s, Joanna’s and the Mona’s, of this world, would have thrived and been completely successful within their rightful roles of very successful gatherers and mothers.

The Ben’s of the world of course also would have found their lives difficult in the stage of Hunters and Gatherers as there dominate learning style of Audio or Visual would have to find other ways to compete with the more agile Kinaesthetic boy learner hunters.

The 3 major learning styles all children are still being born with in today’s 21st Century are the same 3 learning styles that were needed back at the child stage of humanities development as Hunters and Gatherers. Every child has in the past and is still in today’s world being born dominate in one of the 3 major learning styles. Kinaesthetic, Visual or Auditory learning styles have supported humanities continuum of growth for thousands and thousands of years. This continuum of growth and evolution of humanity as a whole has gone through the baby stage to the child stage to the adolescent’s stage and from my reflections and observations I believe is only just entering the youth stage. I also believe humanity is a long way away from entering into an adult stage but that’s another conversation completely.

As humanity evolves and moves along the continuum of growth I believe children are able in today’s world to move very quickly into all three areas of learning styles a lot younger than a few generations ago. The biggest stunting to this process within individual children is trauma. If a child is growing up in a balanced and healthy family environment and does not experience a trauma which is not cleared quickly they tend to hang on “tooth and nail” to their birth dominate learning style like a “starving dog” does with a piece of meat. To get these children to surrender their dominate learning style and begin to approach learning from all 3 main areas takes immense patience and caring and for the individual child to learn to TRUST you and the process.

The 3 basic learning styles that have been designated to humanities children right from the very beginning of their creation and have been slowly evolving over thousands of decades for the very survival of humanity are that the majority of girls are born dominate in Visual or Audio learning styles with a small percentage being Kinaesthetic learners. Whereas the majority of boys are born with the Kinaesthetic learning style with a small percentage being the Visual or Audio learners.

If today’s parents and teachers were able to comprehend and understand how these 3 major learning styles were created and how today’s children have evolved over the decades and are still evolving at an exponential rate an immense burden a lot of them are caring would be removed immediately.

Evolution occurs in the child stage of each individual. Each parent gives birth to an advanced model of themselves. Each parent has to invent the next level of parenting with each and every new generation born. Every teacher cannot continue to teach the same way year after year and if they attempt to they will become very disillusioned as what worked a couple of years ago is no longer working and the teacher either is forced to change the age group they teach or leaves the profession thinking it is something wrong with them. Then add into the equation that the education model presently being used throughout the entire World is a model developed back in 1600’s for wealthy aristocratic teenage boys who were nowhere evolved like today’s children have become.

Kinaesthetic learners are the DOERS. They love sports, and very hands on trades such as builders, motor mechanics, cooks, machinists and they tend to "hit out", "yell and scream" when they find themselves in situations of conflict. Kinaesthetic learners tend to be boys and find the modern home and school environments suffocating and sterile. They find learning to sit, read or write an immense chore. They find being made to sit and listen to someone extremely confronting. They need to be gently coaxed and communicated to while they are active. As they are being coaxed while doing something like washing the car or kicking a ball around they can slowly be introduced to the skills of thinking and feeling concepts.

Visual learners are FEELERS. They love the arts and counseling, talking, serving in the mainstream and alternative health and educational industries. They choose things because it "feels right". Get upset at the drop of a hat and tend to allow their emotions to rule all of their life. These children need an immense level of support in today’s educational environments to learn to read as they become so competent in solving all of their childhood problems through their eyes so when it comes to learning to read and the eyes fail them as they need their ears turned on to learn sounds, they become emotionally over whelmed and need extra gentle coaxing (this where I believe dyslexia and many other learning problems stem from). As these children have been so successful in solving problems with their eyes from birth they are going to need immense emotional support if they get stuck here. These children need to know their ears have to be turned on and then with knowledge they do not have to feel everything that is wrong around them.

Audio learners are the THINKERS. These learners in today’s educational system have it made. The entire educational system throughout the world has been modeled and formed around this learning style (all modern educational systems have been modeled on the University model of education not on what children need). On top of that the modern house designs, suburbs and environments have been constructed to suit this kind of learner. An entire class system has been created since the 2 World War based in and around this learning style individual. A complete juxtaposition away from the bias of this kind of learner back in the Hunter and Gatherer stage of humanities development.

The majority of Audio learners succeed at all levels of school work and most go on to university and get very well payed jobs that allows them far more opportunities and benefits than the Kinaesthetic and Visual learners are allowed. The general trends in the modern Western world is only a few chosen ones from each of the Kinaesthetic and Visual learner groups will be able to earn large salaries as sports stars or artists. Most “famous people” are the few souls that are allowed to achieve to extra human levels and get over real wealth lavished on them that helps keep the rest of the Kinaesthetic and Visual learners in a false sense of hope and desire.

Since the 2 World War we have, as a society in the West, been forced to eliminated prejudices of differences such as skin colours and working very hard towards equality between men and women but we have created prejudices of learning styles which is just as socially corrosive and oppressive.

The other victim in this new form of prejudice is against right brain thinking that usually belongs to the Visual learners and elevates the left brain Thinkers who tend to be the Audio learners.

99% of this process is fully unconsciously being acted out and inflicted upon an entire society as it struggles to stay afloat of a very strongly advancing and changing world.
No room for blaming only time to reflect, consult and begin to make changes at grassroots levels. An entire generation of children are out there being forced to conform into a system that is very out of step with their evolutionarily needs, changes and advancements and they are exploding out of control at an alarming rate. No amount of assessment or diagnosis or drugs is stopping this avalanche. Humanity has to and will continue to evolve and nothing that any human being attempts to do to stop this advancement or to slow it down or stunt its growth will succeed.
