Base Brown

I just love my vista’s to be moody with a bit of edge and the bonus of random light highlighting one of the tops, unfortunately this is as good as it got on Tuesday. I didn’t bother to get my Canon out of the backpack as I was iffy on it’s worth and took the photo with my Fujifilm XT30 16-80mm utility lens. This is a super little combo to be hanging on my shoulder in my old crumpler quick escape pouch. The xt30 is small and has got the best aps-c sensor Fujifilm produce at the moment and this 16-80mm is a very versatile lens, giving an equivalent 24-120mm focal range. It’s sharp enough for this sensor and has a great stabilisation. I always like a camera to be handy when I’m in the hills to catch the little moments of drama, regardless of it being a photography day where I would have a bit more camera umph in my rugsack, or a mountain day where I would only carry the small Fujifilm. The photo was taken maxed out at 80mm to catch a rare sight of the high tops. It’s centred on Base Brown flanked by a snow dusted Great End and the Gables either side.
