Safdarjung's Tomb,New Delhi

This beautiful garden tomb was built in the memory of the powerful prime minister of the weak Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah.It was built by Safdarjung's son Nawab Shuja-ud-Daulah of Awadh in 1753-54.This is probably the only monument of any consequence built after the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and is known as the "Last flicker in the lamp of Mughal architectue"Although it is not on the regular tourist map it is well worth a visit.
