Buddhist monks attend a morning prayer assembly in a monastery somewhere near Gangtok.Not a very good shot because I took it quickly handholding my camera as I did not want to disturb anyone but I thought my friends would like this fascinating scene.
I am back from a short trip to Gangtok ,the capital of the mountain state of Sikkim in the eastern Himalayas.Gangtok is situated at an altitude of around 5410 feet and commands magnificent views of the Himalayas especially of the magnificent Kanchenjunga peak.I had hoped to get a few good shots of the mountains but the weather was not on my side.There was a haze throught the day and the peaks were not visible.
However,we did visit a few monasteries and I got some decent shots there.I hope my friends enjoy them.
