The Kangra-valley Railway runs through the sub-Himalayan region and covers a distance of 164 kms. from Pathankot in Punjab to Jogindernagar in Himachal Pradesh. It is a narrow gauge railway.

The railway line was planned in May 1926 and commisioned in 1929.The highest point on this railway line is at Ahju station at an elevation of 3970 feet above sea level. The railway runs through some spectacular scenery and for some portion in Himachal Pradesh it runs parallel to the snow-covered Dhauladhar Ranges which are barely 10 miles away.

This railway line is on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage sights.

I took this shot somewhere near the paragliding centre of Billing in the Kangra valley.Unfortunately it was a dull, cloudy day but I did my best.:-) Source - Wikipedia
