Coming grom India and introduced in Europe by Alexander the Great, the blue peafowl has been worshiped for millenaries. Symbol of Krishna in Asia, the min-hao, meaning the rain will fall is synonym of beauty and wealth. His elongated upper-tail covert feathers which bear colourful eyespots can measure up to 160 centimeters. The male uses them to frighten his predators and to seduce females during the mating season.
