Dinner at The Neptune is fantasic, the chef , Kevin, was awarded a Michelin star earlier this year and although I don't know what defines such an honour the food is superb. I drew the meal as we talked and had to leave room for the 'freebies' that are presented during the evening, little explosions of taste, the passion fruit jelly was out of this world and we fought ungraciously over the cinnamon dounuts. The most curious content of the meal was the deep fried egg, it was whole and soft centred but coated in a very fine network of Panco breadcrumbs, we debated how it was created. The next morning Kevin explained his secret, which was facinating and so simple but will remain a secret... you'll just have to visit and have the Artichoke salad starter to find out.
