Of Angels and Demons
The Castel Sant'Angelo appeared in Dan Brown's 2000 novel Angels and Demons. The location served as the secret lair for the Hassassin and was seen as the last existing church of the Illuminati and where he kept the four abducted cardinals of the Catholic church.
The book and the movie featured the Passetto di Borgo, an elevated passage where protagonists Robert Langdon and Vittoria Vetra used as a shortcut to the Vatican City.
Apart from being a great movie from start to finish (contrary to its prequel The Da Vinci Code which was a bit disappointing), watching Angels and Demons made me re-live and re-discover my appreciation of these landmarks in Rome I visited two years ago.
So, where will the weekend bring you? Looks like it'd be a DVD weekend for me. :-)
Enjoy the weekend, friends!
