Fortress Marienburg

It is the castle on a hill across the Old Main Bridge, overlooking the whole town area as well as the surrounding hills. It has been a fort since ancient times.

Today, it is a park and museum. In 704 A.D., the Marienkirche was built atop a former Celtic shelter and in the 13th century was surrounded by the first fortification.

Unlike other fortresses that I climbed, this one is the most feet-friendly as it not as high and as steep as most of them. :D
