The hills are alive...

Beautiful is an understatement, perfect would be probably a more appropriate word to describe St. Gilgen. When we got to this place, there was somehow an enchanting feeling with me of being Julie Andrews singing ... ♫ ♫ The hills are alive with the sound of music....♫♫

St. Gilgen is a beautiful village that is situated on a popular lake of the Salzkammergut, The Wolfgangsee. Mozart's mother, Anna Pertl, was born here. That is why a little Mozart museum has been set up in the city center. You can see the village in the aerial view at the beginning of The Sound of Music. The Wolfangsee is so clear, that one can swim there in the summer.
