Happy Independance day!
So, yesterday at office we all wore Indian colors to celebrate the achievement. Pretty indian faces look even prettier in tricolors. Exuberant chants of Jai-Ho, and Sabse-aagey-hoge-hindustani were all over. It was nice.
But somehow, the mind kept going back to this rendezvous with Mr. Saleem. He seemed like a man having pride and self-esteem, even when he was working (as he mentioned) in the lowest possible profession a human can indulge in. Exact words : 'Iss kaam se chotta kaam nahi hota hai.. lekin Prasad bhai, Sharam karega toh pett kaisa bharega?'
He beleived his kids wont do the work he is doing, and that he will educate them and create Badaa Aadmis out of them.
We have been making a lot of progress in the last few years. Economy has managed to grow in spite of the recession, technology has been improving with the latest addition of Bhuvan, the government seems to be heading in the right direction calling for active participation by youth in the governance. This makes one feel happy, and proud to be a part of the developing nation. We do have our share of major problems, but then which other country does not? In addition to these, lets also atleast be aware of the other small problems that we need to resolve, and have an honest attitude towards growth.
