Semi-chocolate Bread Pudding

I think the addition of cocoa powder certainly improves the appearance of bread pudding, at least when using white bread which can make it look fairly pallid.

 

Tastewise, I think both versions are very nice. Most of the flavour comes from the currants and mixed spice that I add (although today I almost picked up the cayenne pepper jar instead of the mixed spice jar by accident, which could have been interesting).
