Life drawings 5 (2020/01/29)
This was only a 5 minute pose but after several in which I'd taken the whole time on a single sketch I felt like doing several quicker sketches of the same pose. I switched from charcoal to conté so I could work multiple sketches on the same page and keep them distinct.
For this pose, Meg (the model) was facing directly away from where I was sitting initially, so I decided to do my first sketch from that position.
I abandoned my first attempt as I had started too close the middle of the paper and wanted to work left to right. Rather than rub it out, I switched to a fresh sheet of paper. I probably spent about 2 minutes on the first sketch here, a minute on the second one and only around 15 seconds on the last one.
