Northern Flicker, Red-shafted Colorado State

Time to break out some shots from last summer.

 

Spotted this guy when walking out of our dorm where we stayed for a conference in Ft. Collins, CO this past summer. Not as focused as I'd like, but he was so busy with this tree I managed a shot or two. Very close to the front door, surprisingly.
