9A390M1 "Buk-M1"/ SA-11 "Gadfly" TELAR
A "Buk" system has been implicated in the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, on the 17th of July 2014 with 298 lives lost including almost 200 Dutch nationals. The aircraft was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it flew over Southern Ukraine.
Allegedly it was shot down using a missile launched from a single TELAR operated by "pro-Russian rebels", that had been moved from Russia into Ukraine earlier that day, but without the supporting surveillance radar. A day later the same vehicle was photographed en route back to Russia, minus one missile. To this day, Russia denies any involvement in this tragedy.
