Swordfish
Ed Diment (aka. Lego Monster) has asked me whether I'd like to build an aircraft to go with his minifig scale model of HMS Hood. In 1941 HMS Hood was sunk by the German Battleship Bismarck, after which the Royal Navy launched a major operation to take Bismarck out of action once and for all. Bismarck's location was discovered by a PBY Catalina patrol aircraft, after which she was attacked by a number of Fairey Swordfish torpedo bombers launched from HMS Ark Royal. One of the torpedoes disabled Bismarck's rudder, allowing Royal Navy warships to catch up and sink her. So, a Swordfish seemed like a suitable choice.
