Large Robber Fly

Biggest robber fly I've seen. It only stuck around for 3 pictures and I missed the side shot. It makes the yellowjacket look small.

Laphria fernaldi? Not that you can see it in this shot, but it had an orange stripe near it's back end. I mistook it for a bumble bee until I saw the wasp.
