Sturton Primitive Methodist Church
The old Sturton Primitive Methodist Church built in 1856 especially for the Jeffries family. Closed 1892.
Purchased by Commonwealth in World War 2. It was once part of Edinburgh Air Force Base, but is now accessible to the public.
Stone at front left of front door reads, "To the memory of John and Henry Jeffries. Who came from Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada. Settled here in 1850, farmed this surrounding country and worshipped in this Methodist Church.
Built 1856
Restored by the Commonwealth Government 1943.
Erected by Hedley A. Jefferies 1945."
