Leaves are stalked, obovate to circular, 0.5–5 cm long, mostly hairless. Flowerheads are oval, to 15 mm long and 10 mm wide. Bracts are lanceolate and pungent pointed. A native o South America, it is a widespread weed of bare ground and disturbed areas.
