Echinocereus poselgeri from Starr County, Texas - March 2018.

 

E. poselgeri is another cactus species that barely enters the U.S. in extreme southern Texas. This is one of my personal favorites. The long narrow stem is essentially invisible for most of the year, save the early spring when massive hot pink blooms appear.
