20091101 Beynac
Perched high on a rock, the castle of Beynac overlooks the Dordogne valley.
A steep and winding road leads to the entrance.
I decided to remain halfway, and do this sketch.
The houses in front are covered with flat stones, called "lauzes". More recent houses have roofs covered with flat ceramic tiles (tuiles plats).
