Time becomes a loop

In July, killing time, waiting to see the doctor, I wandered around Alexanderplatz and watched as an American family emerged from the Park Inn. Two parents and a teenager. They looked jet lagged; angry, tired and depressed. I trailed after them through the almost empty plaza. They were as special as the first returning geese.
