Really enjoyed getting out photographing along the Settle-Carlisle Railway over the weekend, especially getting to see a steam train I've never photographed before. Here, locomotive 7029 Clun Castle can be seen hauling the Cumbrian Mountaineer Express over the picturesque Arten Gill Viaduct in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (which ironically is also in the county of Cumbria rather than North Yorkshire).

The forecast was pretty grim for the area, but I decided to head out regardless and was so pleased I did as the moody conditions were certainly to my preference. Although it was raining quite heavily as I was photographing, it was really calm with hardly any breeze so luckily the lens managed to stop dry. The calmness almost meant the steam trail was very impressive, as it can be see meandering off into the distance.
