Ring round the sun
Liz and I had spent a happy hour or so looking at the vintage vehicles in the park before they set off for the annual run to Felixstowe, We were heading for home when I noticed this distinct halo around the sun. I think it is a 22° halo, caused by tiny ice crystals high in the sky acting as prisms refracting the light of the sun into rainbow colours. They say it is a sign of a change in the weather. It was very clear to the naked eye but hard to capture with my little camera, and I had to fiddle about with the image to enhance the contrast and bring out the colours. I think that red thing in the top left is the gutter of my house that I wish hadn't been included in the shot.
