Tromatobia lineatoria (male)
I photographed this ichneumon wasp in my garden (Ipswich, Suffolk) on 27 Apr 2016. ID suggested by Chris Raper and confirmed by Gavin Broad on the Facebook Hymenopterists Forum. It is a male - the female has a short ovipositor. No records for this species on the NBN Gateway for Suffolk, probably due to under-recording. As far as I know these wasps are parasitoids and predators of spiders' eggs. Maybe that was why it was visiting my garden, as there were many spiders out enjoying the sunshine.
