Riponnensia splendens (male)
A metallic greenish bronze hoverfly with 2 stripes on the dorsal thorax and a broad band of whitish dusting across the face. ID from keys in Stubbs and Falk, confirmed by Joan Childs on Facebook UK Hoverflies group. Found in my garden (Ipswich, VC25 East Suffolk, TM166450)) on 29 May 2015.
