Needle penny on wood
I like the contrasting textures of this steel sewing needle resting on a British decimal penny coin on the wooden seat of an old Windsor arm chair. Photographed in my front room here in Suffolk. The needle was one of mixed set I borrowed from my wife's sewing box. The design on the copper-plated steel penny was designed by Matthew Dent and is the left section of the UK Royal Shield between the first and third quarter of the shield, representing England and Northern Ireland.
