The Challenge
This is my second attempt at trying the Pep Ventosa technique in photography. My first attempt I won’t post but I did learn from it. 😏 The challenge is finding an interesting subject with a background that doesn’t overwhelm the subject. On this day, the sun was bright so I didn’t want to get the sun in the image. I limited myself to 6 exposures and only a 180 degree walk about the tree. It was uneven ground walking in the deep snow. But I liked this tree for it’s shape and the way the snow on the branches gave a bit of definition in the final image. So I ventured in the snow. It was also really cold that day! My fingers barely depressed the button on each exposure. As soon as I was done, I went back to the car to thaw out my fingers. I didn’t even check my image until I got home! I was pleasantly surprised with the results and encouraged to try again……but on a warmer day! With all the challenges I experienced with this image, the one I enjoyed most is the thinking involved in creating a good composition and finding new ways to “ play” with my camera. I shall keep practicing. Thanks to all my Flickr friends who inspired me to try something new.
